授業概要 |
(Semester One) This
course will explore the structures and uses of the
English language. we will study English pronunciation,
grammar and syntax, the structure of the spoken English
sentence, and the relationship between English language
and culture. we will practise exercises in aural
dictation, translation, comprehension and conversation.
We will study practical, conversational English, for use
in greetings and questions, travel, shopping and social
activity, and put this English into practice in oral
role-playing exercises. We will also discuss the
differences and similarities between English and Japanese
uses of spoken language, and methods of teaching English. (Semester Two) This course will continue the work started in the first semester. It will introduce more complex and specialized forms of the English language. We will practise exercises in English conversations for use in business, personal and academic contexts. We will also study the vocabulary and structures of casual and idiomatic English language. We will explore the history and etymology of the English language in relation to other European languages, and examine the differences and similarities between British and American uses of the English language. We will also discuss the differences between spoken and written English. |
