　本書は、アジアの若者向けの文学、映画、大衆メディアにおいて、成功がどのように表象されているかを様々な角度から考察した論文集です。収められた論考は、子供の成功が教育、家族、ジェンダー、人種、階級、コミュニティ、国家とどのように関係しているのかを分析しています。この本は、国際的な視点から子どもに関する研究を推進するシリーズ「児童文学・児童文化」の一冊です。

　私の論考では、森田芳光監督の1983年の映画『家族ゲーム』の分析を通じて、子どもの成功と日本の入学試験制度との関係を考察しています。
