研究内容

My research focuses on language changes across Japan’s early modern and modern periods (1600-present) reflected through literature, film, and other culture products. I draw on a range of topics, from seventeenth-century language reform movements to contemporary cell phone novels, to examine how new forms of discourse, combined with changing mediums, affect the way that language is created, disseminated, and interpreted.
