【SUNTA】OSEA Summer Ethnography Field School, Yucatan

Four & Six Week programs
June 22 to July 30, 2016, Yucatán, México
Ethnography Field School provides experiential hands on training in learning ethnographic methods in contexts of community action research and service learning.   Ideal for Graduate students preparing for fieldwork and Undergraduates seeking unique educational and international experience to enter med school, continue in a graduate program, or pursue a career in non-profit community work.
Tourism projects in 2016 include assisting Maya communities to create tourism business associations; the development of a Cultural Festival in collaboration with OperaMaya; Anthropology of Tourist Art; and community action research in strategy tourism planning
Students design & conduct research project in areas that interest them such as Sustainable Community Tourism; Sexualities & Subjectivities in contexts of cultural change; Visual Ethnography; Heritage & Identity Politics, Service Learning; Maya Health, Healing & Illness; Anthropology of Food, Anthropology of Art and Tourist Art, Rural Cosmopolitanism
