Continuities and Change: Social, political and economic dynamics in Somalia since 1991

The Rift Valley Institute (RVI) Nairobi Forum in partnership with the British Institute in Eastern Africa will host the launch of a special issue of the Journal of Eastern Africa Studies, at a seminar entitled: Continuities and change: social, political, and economic dynamics in Somalia since 1991. The seminar, one of a series of meetings* examining the issue of state-building in Somalia, will explore themes addressed in the journal including the social, political and economic consequences of two decades of statelessness.

Confirmed speakers include Markus Hoehne (Max Planck Institute),Jutta Bakonyi (University of Durham), and Jason Mosley (University of Oxford).
